The Weekapaug Chapel will hold the final service for this summer on Sunday, September 8th with the Rev. Joan Withers Priest leading the service. Rev. Priest is a Presbyterian minister from Greenwich, CT.

At this service we ask those attending to bring canned goods and non-perishable food items which will be given to the Jonny Cake Center in Westerly to help those in need. Remember the Center as you clean out your kitchens at the end of the summer season. Also, the Chapel is still collecting contributions for the Outreach Fund of the Chapel. Monies collected during the summer months support the Mwea School in Kenya. Funds collected at services in the off-season support local organizations. Please give generously!

The Chapel Society Trustees wish to thank the many guest ministers and others who have made these services such a special part of the summer. A special thanks to our choir and Gery Elliott, organist and choir director, who have combined to provide wonderful music at the Chapel. Thanks also to Dot Reiser who presented music for reflection at last week’s service. Thanks are due also to Caroline Maynard all those volunteers who have worked with the Sunday School program. It has been more popular than ever with our children.

For those who will be in Weekapaug during the holidays, please mark your calendars for the Thanksgiving service to be to be held at 10:30 AM on November 28th and the Christmas Eve service to be held at 5 PM on December 24th. Remember that the Chapel is now heated for our comfort. Looking on to 2014, an Easter Service will be held on April 20th at 10 AM and a Memorial Day Service will be held on May 25th at 10 AM.

Ecumenical services are held each week at the Chapel at 105 Noyes Neck Rd. For further information about the Chapel, please call 401-322-1450.
