The Weekapaug Chapel Society was founded on August 4, 1906 to erect and maintain a chapel at Weekapaug for Christian worship during the summer months without any denominatioal distinction. The present building was completed and dedicated in 1917. The chapel and its grounds are maintained through generous contributions and gifts of musical instruments, furnishings, and baseboard heat. The Chapel Society celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2006 and the building was repaired and renovated in 2009.

All residents of and visitors to the Weekapaug area are welcome to attend services in the Chapel. Those who attend services and contribute to the chapel are considered members of the Society.

The work necessary to maintain the chapel's worship and activities is carried on by committees of voluteers. New members are always welcome on these committees, and interested worshippers are invited to volunteer by contacting a trustee.
