The Rev. James Glenn to Preach at the Weekapaug Chapel

The Trustees of the Weekapaug Chapel welcome the return of the Rev. James Glenn, minister of the Dunn’s Corners Community Church, as the guest minister on Sunday, July 20th. The weekly services at the Chapel at 105 Noyes Neck Rd. are held at 10 am each week. All are welcome to attend these ecumenical services. For additional information please call 401-322-1450.

The choir holds their rehearsal on Sunday morning at 9 am and invites those who are interested in singing with the choir to join them. The choir is under the direction of Gery Elliot who also serves as the organist.

This week the Chapel is celebrating July’s Outreach Sunday with the monies contributed going to schools and agencies overseas. For many years the Chapel has supported the Mwea School in Kenya funding a lunch program that feeds all of the children for a year. Happily the school is at a point where it has become self-sustaining and the Foundation has disbanded. Last year the Chapel began a relationship with the Kpelezo Community School in Ghana. Members of the Tyler family have connections with the school and the Friends of Kpelezo, a foundation which supports the school. There will also be an Outreach Sunday on August 10th and monies collected will also be sent overseas.

The children are enjoying their Sunday School classes which are held weekly in the Chapel Garden. In case of a rainy day the children will remain in the Chapel for the entire service.

Next Sunday, July 27th we welcome the Rev. Tom Spears of Simsbury, CT as our guest minister.
