Rev. John Finley to Preach at the Weekapaug Chapel

The Rev. John Finley of Dorchester, Massachusetts will lead the August 24th service at the Weekapaug Chapel. Rev. Finley is the founder and head of the Epiphany School, an independent, tuition-free, middle school for children economically disadvantaged families from Boston neighborhoods. The school mission statement reads in part: “We admit children of diverse faiths, races, cultures, and cognitive profiles, believing in the Episcopal tradition that we find God in and through each other’s presence.”

This Sunday marks the final week for the Sunday School program for area children. This summer the program has been led each week by an adult leader as well as teenagers. Many children have enjoyed ringing the Chapel bell and their time in the Memorial Garden.

The choir, under the direction of organist Gery Elliot, has continued to provide lovely music for chapel services each week. Rehearsals are held on Sunday at 9 AM prior to the serviceh. All are invited to join the choir.

Next Sunday, August 31st we welcome the return of the Rev. Roy Jacobsen of Charlestown, RI. Also, next Sunday will be the date for the annual Labor Day Hymn Sing held at the Chapel at 8:00pm.

Remember whether you’ve been coming to Weekapaug for a day, a week or a lifetime, all are welcome to attend the ecumenical, intergenerational services at the Weekapaug Chapel at 105 Noyes Neck Rd. For further information about the Chapel, please call 401-322-1450.
